Bump Bar

Postby Caseyr » Tue Jan 31, 2017 8:30 pm

Does anyone else have any issues regarding pcAmerica RPE and the LS6000 bump bar? We've had ongoing issues with a client that experiences random voids to the kitchen monitors so orders don't get made, which will freeze the workstations up front. We are unsure if authorizations are holding true to the transactions as well when this occurs. pcAmerica shows no urgency in the matter and has released 3 different version to "fix the issue," which never works. Sad to say, ever since Heartland came into the picture, it seems as if they don't care.

Any assistance or update would be appreciated.

How long has this been going on? Ever since you started to use RPE? First time I hear that an order voids itself unless a server mistakenly pushes a wrong button.

Hey Kurt,

Never even saw you're reply, however, we are still experiencing the same issue. The system will freeze upon paying out the ticket (QSR), which then freezes upon sending the order to the kitchen display. The system will remain frozen, until the customer reboots the computer entirely, thus voiding the order that was supposed to be sent to the kitchen and the transaction that did not finish authorization.

We've been dealing with pcAmerica since September of 2016, nothing has improved. They have mentioned they were able to replicate the issue, but not to the severity that our customer is experiencing it. He's since gone to Square for his transactions and is continuing to operate on the half speed pcAmerica system.

Obviously, I am not familiar with your system as used in a restaurant environment. Is your kitchen display configured as a printer? If yes, does it show up on the available printer list? What is the connection to the display, Ethernet? I wonder if the reason the system hangs is because it does not properly communicate with the kitchen display. We had a problem on a previous system from another vendor. If the printer runs out of paper and it is not reloaded right away, the system would start to slow down and progressively get worse until it stops completely
